Here we go, my first blog post on my new site. . . I’ll be keeping you up to date with what I’m doing and how the races go so check back for regular posts. Here’s a bit of a re-cap of the last couple of months. . . Unfortunately at the first race of the season I had a silly crash in practice and broke my wrist. Not the best way to start a season, putting and end to all trips planned and made even more annoying when I found out I had been selected to race for the GB squad at 3 World Cup Rounds. I had dislocated my wrist, broke the scaphoid and crushed the nerve in the process. I spent a few nights in hospital and they put a pin and bone graft in to give it the best chance of recovery. Three weeks later I had another op to release the crushed nerve. Now nine weeks since the accident I have had the cast off but cannot ride because the slow healing scaphoid has not shown any signs of healing. In seven weeks it will be x rayed again and if it has started to heal I can start rehab but if not I may need more operations. So I am devastated about the injury but it has happened now and I am just looking forwards and thinking about getting fit as soon as possible. Luckily my friends and family have been great helping me out, and I have been keeping busy with. . . . . .Mackerel fishing, Golf (caddy), Spear fishing, Running, Holiday with Rachael, Sailing and lots of BBQs!
